In urma unui concurs international am obtinut o burse de aistent de cercetare, acordata de UNESCO, pentru a lucra la "Biological Research Center", Institute of Biophysics (Szeged, Hungary).


January 1994 - April 1994

Am urmat cursul european ERASMUS in "Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering", la Universitatea Patras (Patras, Greece).


December 1994 - October 1997

Studii doctorale la Universitatea "Karl-Franzens" (Graz, Austria) sub indrumarea Prof. Wolfgang Schreibmayer.


October 1997 - August 1998

In data de 27 octombrie 1997, am sustinut in sedinta publica, la Universitatea "Karl-Franzens" (Graz, Austria) teza de doctorat "Gating modulation of a G protein activated, inwardly rectifying potassium channel by a cytosolic applied peptide". Dupa prezentare, mi-a fost acordat titlul de "doctor in fizica" (Biofizica moleculara) "magna cum laude".


August 1998 - September 1999

In urma unei competitii internationale, mi-a fost oferita o pozitia de cercetare (research officer) la University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia). Conducatori de proiect au fost Prof. David J. Adams (Department of Physiology & Pharmacology) si Dr. Richard Lewis (Centre for Drug Design and Development). Finantarea a fost acordata de AMRAD-Melbourne.


July 2001 - July 2003

In urma unei competitii internationale, mi-a fost oferita o pozitia de cercetare (research officer) la Texas A&M University (College Station, Texas, USA). Seful grupului de cercetare a fost Prof. Hagan Bayley. Finantarea a fost acordata de Office of Naval Research (ONR), the U.S. Department of Energy, the Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative, the National Institute of Health, the Texas Advanced Technology Program.

  1. Studierea proprietatilor biofizice ale membranelor excitabile (tehnica "patch-clamp", masurarea intra- si extracelulara a potentialului de membrana, tehnica current si voltage noise, masurarea impedantei biomembranelor excitabile in regim liniarizat)

  2. Studierea canalelor ionice inserate in membrane lipidice artificiale (BLM). Constructia si studiul biosenzorilor bazati pe tehnologia "stochastic sensing".

  3. Proprietatile biofizice ale transportului de substanta prin membrane artificiale si ale interfetei membrana artificiala - lichid.

  4. Studierea caracteristicilor fizice ale nanoporilor artificiali realizati in filme polimerice
